Vacation Over

My Caribana and Montreal experience has come to a close. I had such a wonderful time, already I'm planning my vacation for next year.

Caribana was a blast! The concerts and parties that followed left me little time to catch my breath. I met some 'very interesting' people and managed to make a few friends as well as business contacts along the way.

Then it was onto Montreal where we ate and shopped to our hearts content. No one every told me about all the good-looking men. I was unprepared for this onslaught.... Toronto had some good looking guys too, don't want to leave anyone out.

The overall vacation was one of the best ever and I'm looking forward to doing it again. Read the full Caribana story in Nu Woman's Fall issue!

It's getting better, better!

The first part of my vacation started of a bit rough with delayed flights and all, but it has gotten progressively better.

My girlfriend, Samantha and I participated in Toronto's 2008 Caribana, and it was a blassSST! I've posted a few short videos for your viewing ( check Nu Woman's Facebook page - http://www.facebook.com/pages/Nu-Woman-Magazine/21350463557). After the parade it was one event after the next; that same night we found ourselves at the Socavivor at the Wild Water Kingdom, where we danced into the morning and mixed with artists such as Destra, Shurwayne Winchester and Crazy. Look for the full Caribana story with pictures in Nu Woman's upcoming Fall 2008 Issue!

Now, we are resting quietly in a hotel in Montreal, after 5 days of non-stop partying.

Day One

Stranded in Atlanta.

July 31st. 2008 we are stuck in Atlanta's Airport. We left Nassau at 2pm, could not land at Atlanta's airport because of weather conditions, so we circled the airport for forty minutes until we were given clearance. Finally we arrived at airport only to have our plane departure time changed three times. We finally boarded the plane at 11:15 pm and sat on the runway until 12:30 only to be told that our pilot had flown too many hours and could not take us to Toronto, but that we would have to disembark and re-book our departure in the terminal.
So instead of spending the night at the Marriott in downtown Toronto, we are lounging in the Atlanta airport.

Vacation Pending

July 24, 2008.

Less than a week to go before I head off to Toronto and I'm busy tying up some loose ends. I'm sending off a few more advertisement propositions for the Fall 2008 Issue, and trying to set up some interviews before I head out (I've left a few of my writers to get a few more stories and I'm trying to arrange a time when they can do interview with these persons that will be featured).

On a lighter note, my girlfriend and I have booked our costumes with the Tribal Knights bands in Toronto, and have arranged for another friend to pick them up. Our hotels (in Toronto and Montreal) have been booked and some spending moneys have been collected , so I am all set to head off for some fun and games.

A few more workdays remain and then swoooosSSH...I am off.

Hello

July 19th. 2008

Today, I got the idea to start a blog. I'm not one to put myself out there and to allow people in, but I thought that I would try something new. A girlfriend suggested that a blog space might be a good idea and so here I am.

I don't know how often I'll post because I'm usually quite swamped with work (working full-time and trying to run a publication leaves little time for anything else) but I'll try to keep this up.

The last few months have been pretty rough. I've been working non-stop and my social life has suffered but I plan to correct that in about a week or so. At the end of the month I'm taking a much needed vacation to Toronto and Montreal. I'll be spending 5 days in Toronto and participating in Caribana, and then the next 4-5 days in Montreal where I plan to shop until my money runs out and eat until my stomach quits.

So, yes I am a bit excited. The last fun vacation that I took was in early 2007 when I participated in Trinidad and Tobago's carnival- that was so much fun it almost felt illegal. I have not been to Toronto in quite a few years and I'm looking forward to returning to this city. I'll try to keep you informed on my trip, but if I am having too much fun, I'll update you when I return. So stay tuned!
